About block printing
After designing a pattern and cutting it into a piece of wood, the patterns are printed on the fabric. Tedious and precise work, blockprinting is the earliest, simplest and slowest of all methods of textile printing. And we love it. Large pieces of printed fabric are sun-dried. Each piece is unique.
From generation to generation. All Doing Goods textiles are 100% handmade using traditional block print techniques. The crafts people they work with were taught by their parents, who were, in turn, taught by theirs – each generation working almost exactly as the one before. The crafts people are experts and make each item with patience and care.
