Ritual shell, encased in decorated white metal.
The shell is one of the Eight auspicious symbols in Tibetan Buddhism, the conch shell is used as a sacred trumpet to announce ceremonies, symbolise Buddha’s teachings, and purify spaces. Its resonant sound is believed to dispel negative energies, awaken practitioners, and represent the far-reaching wisdom and compassion of the Buddha.*

The conch is blown at the beginning of religious meetings or ceremonies to mark the start of a sacred event.
Symbol of Buddha’s Voice as it represents the deep, resonant voice of Buddha and the sound of the sacred ‘Om’, signaling good fortune and auspicious beginnings.
The sound is thought to have purifying qualities, dispelling negative energies and sanctifying the space for spiritual practices. The blast of the conch is also believed to ward off evil spirits and dangerous creatures.
